Earlier this week (Tue 23 Feb 16) the Jersey Rotary Club de la Marche hosted the Lieutenant Governor General Sir John McColl and Lady McColl at a competition for the Lieutenant-Governor’s Cadets. The prize on offer was the clubs Lieutenant-Governor’s Cadet Trophy and a cheque for £1000. There are four Lieutenant-Governor Cadets drawn from all of the Island Cadet Forces. Each of them was given the opportunity to present to His Excellency and the Rotary Members on their experiences of being a Cadet, their goals and future aspirations.
All of the Cadets made excellent presentations acquitting themselves with distinction and in doing so impressed His Excellency and the audience. After much deliberation by the reviewing panel the eventual winner was declared to be Cadet Coxswain Bradley Rose from the Navy Section of the Victoria College Combined Cadet Force.
The Jersey Rotary Club de la Marche Lieutenant-Governors’ Trophy was presented to Bradley Rose by the Clubs Vice President Mrs Tina Palmer. Mrs Palmer thanked His Excellency and Lady McColl for attending as well as thanking all of the Lieutenant-Governor Cadets for taking part in the competition. This is the second time that this prize has being awarded and it is well on its way to becoming an annual event.
